Medical Acupuncture & Dry Needling
We offer a 5 day programme which can be taken as two separate courses -
Module 1 - Introduction to Dry Needling
Module 2 - Medical Acupuncture & Advanced Dry Needling
Modules must be attended in the correct order, and may be attended together if you wish, subject to available places.
You will be introduced to the use of dry needling for the purpose of muscular pain relief. The course consists of a varied blend of lectures, demonstrations, guided practical sessions and individual interaction with course tutors over two days for Module I and a further three days for Module II. There is a substantial amount of practical work gaining experience of the many aspects of dry needling. You will acquire sound knowledge and skill to use all the techniques shown within your practice. The more advanced modules II and III are also available and may be booked together but need to be attended in order.
The Medical Acupuncture & Dry Needling (MDN) course is a 5 day programme split into two self-contained modules of 2 and 3 days respectively. It is envisaged that most students will want to attend the whole programme to obtain the full range of needling skills available, but recognise that some may wish to restrict themselves to basic dry needling alone, depending on their client base.
MDN 1 introduces basic dry needling skills, while MDN 2 covers fundamental acupuncture points and more advanced aspects of dry needling, and enabling students to extend their skills in both aspects of needling.
Students should be confident of both their anatomical knowledge and clinical skills prior to enrolling on the programme.
Upon successfully completing the full 5 day prgramme comprising both courses, students who complete both courses will be eligible for membership of HEPAG (Health Professions Acupuncture Group) if they are non-physios (AACP if they are physios) and will receive their first years membership free of charge.
