Samantha Barry-Wilson
Since graduating in sports therapy in 2006, Samantha Barry-Wilson, has stayed on at the University as a visiting lecturer while applying for funding to begin her Master's research. Sam is a practising sports therapist for the Julie Dass Sports Injury Clinic at Luton's Vauxhall Recreation Club and for Vauxhall Motors Rugby Union FC.
"It's a really good mix. When people think of Sports Therapy they tend to think it's just massage, but it's much more than that. I've got the clinical side, which is very professional, then I've got work with the football and rugby teams."
"What I love about Sports Therapy is that we don't just treat an injury and send the athlete away; we do our best to continue the rehab process until they reach optimal performance and can return to their sport. Looking after the athletes behind the scenes plays a big part in keeping sport going."
"I also get to teach for Sports Therapy UK and the University first year sports massage module."
