Course Details
Anyone employed in the workplace or a sporting environment may be called upon to give first aid in an emergency. It is inevitable that, at times, there will be accidents and injuries.
This course is intended for anyone involved in sport or the workplace, and in any capacity whether as an employee, coach, trainer, player, sports therapist, or physiotherapist. The training is structured to offer practical tuition on how to administer immediate injury care in a safe and approved manner with some additional emphasis on joint and muscle injuries in sport. Injury prevention and safety in sport are also covered during the course.
It is often an insurance requirement to have a current acceptable first aid certificate to practice as an instructor or therapist in sport. This Certificate covers both the workplace and sporting environments.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be physically able to do the work, have good communication skills and be at least 18 years old.

Course Structure
Practical Training
7 Contact Hours (over 1 day)
The practical training takes place from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. As well as thorough tuition from experienced tutors, this course offers the opportunity to practise many of the procedures that you may be called upon to perform as a first aider in sport.
Numbers attending: 6 to 12 students
Assignments & Examinations
Practical
An assessment of your practical skills will take place during the training which you must pass as part of the qualification.
Course Completion
Certificate
Those who complete the course will be awarded a HSE Approved One Day Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate. Your certificate will be valid for 3 years and you will be eligible to gain Professional Indemnity Insurance.
