Evacuation Chair Training (ECT)
This course is intended for designated employees interested in developing their manual handling skills to incorporate the safe evacuation and transportation of a passenger by chair.

Sports Therapy UK has developed this evacuation chair training to meet specific requirements within healthcare.
Content:
- Opening the chair
- Seating or transferring the intended passenger
- Securing the seat belt
- Use of the trolley mechanism for lateral transfer
- Learning the balance position - required for safe handling
- Transferring smoothly from landings to stairs
- Positioning on the stairs adjacent to the inside rail
- Demonstration of a safe and cautious approach having regard for passenger comfort
Certificate of Attendance
Will be awarded upon completion to each delegate completing the course.
* Expenses include hotel accommodation and travelling costs as appropriate. Sports Therapy UK will select instructors to minimise costs wherever possible.
